Earlier this month I submitted an image for Senior Style Guide’s weekly Senior Stunner image contest on their facebook page. I was pretty excited when I found out that an image from Sydney’s Senior session was featured as an Honorable Mention!

It’s an image that I seriously love – it made my Top 12 Favorite Images of 2012 :)

Back in the fall I decided I wanted to do a styled inspiration shoot. A mini wedding with a gorgeous set up and the dress and the cake and the whole nine yards. I’ll tell you all about the shoot when I post it on my blog next week, but in the mean time, you can get a pretty sneak peek from my feature on Rustic Wedding Chic.

So my crazy, insanely busy fall is about a week away from becoming uncrazy. I could not be more excited about that. I’m actually longing to get back to my regular blogging schedule. Yes, I miss blogging. And pinterest. And just general free time among other things. A lot of fun stuff will be hitting the blog soon though.

*teaser alert* next week I’ll be introducing everyone to my new assistant and believe me, everyone will be a big fan! :)

For now, I leave you with my good news of the week…my beloved maternity session of Megan + Caleb was featured on Baby Lifestyles today. (you may remember it was also featured on Done Brilliantly the day before my birthday!)

p.s. it was an eventful day because shortly after I got the email letting me know this had finally been published – I got an email that my favorite fall senior session will be featured soon too! such exciting things are happening and I’m truly blessed and grateful! :)

From the minute I left Rachel + Russell’s wedding, I knew that despite the odds against us that day, we had some rockin’ photos. Rain all day and a power outage that morning be damned. I’m tickled pink that A Northwoods Wedding agreed and featured this lovely, vintage-inspired wedding yesterday.

So first of all….HOLY SMOKES I HAVEN’T BLOGGED IN A MONTH. Bad Melissa! Seriously I’ve been jam packed with fall shoots and editing – which is amazing – and I’ve sort of neglected the blog. That will change soon though, I have tons of great stuff lined up and a few fun changes to the site itself. I just have to wait until there’s snow on the ground and I have “free” time! ha!

I simply adored this maternity session with Megan + Caleb from earlier this year and it was a great early Birthday present to have it featured on Done Brilliantly. That reminds me, today is my birthday! As a little birthday gift, why don’t you leave some comment love for Megan + Caleb. Or check out their adorable son Lucas’ newborn photos.
